Since staying healthy is the hot topic of the moment, I decided to dive deeper into the health benefits of lemons. We’re all familiar with this little citrus, but we all have a very different relationship with it. While some absolutely LOVE it, others stay away from it due to the intense sour taste. But how many of us know all the health benefits of lemons? And if you knew them all, would you be more inclined to add them to your diet? I am hoping that after reading this blog your answer is YES!
After doing some research on this topic, I found many different claims to fame for our little lemon, but here are some of the top benefits that kept on coming up consistently across my various searches. So here we go.
Are a good source of vitamin C
Vitamin C is a key nutrient in staying healthy and supporting your immune system.
Support weight loss & improve digestion

Vitamin C plays a vital role in the formation of collagen, which reduces wrinkles, dry skin, and damage from the sun.

Aid in cancer prevention
Well, as I mentioned earlier, lemons are full of antioxidants, especially a compound called citrus limonoids, which have protective properties against cancer.
Lower the risk of stroke
Lemons also contain folic acid which aids in cardiovascular health. How? Well, it’s because of that Vitamin C thing, which is an antioxidant, which protects us against those dangerous free radicals. Oh, and it can also lower bad cholesterol by keeping our arteries flexible.
Ok, I think we all have to agree that lemons are kind of a “super fruit.” So when life gives you lemons, just eat them up!

LEMON TURMERIC WATER
- 6 oz of warm water
- Juice from one lemon (from my backyard)
- 1/2 teaspoon of organic turmeric powder
Put all ingredients in a blender cup, blend for 30 sec - 1 minute. And, enjoy!
