Mary Mary Quite Contemporary: How does your hemline grow?
To me the most interesting fact of fashion (I like the sound of that: Fact of Fashion) is observing the fluctuations in extreme styles and shapes over the course of history.
As my favorite professor always said “What goes up, must come down!” She was referring to the patterns of fashion needing to hit an extreme before that went back to basics.

Finding Comfort in Art
I want to write something about Haiti, but I am speechless.
The tragedy is so immeasurable - its impact so enormous - that anything I can say about it seems so insignificant, so irrelevant.
The people of Haiti need to be clothed, and we are partnering up with Fashion Delivers, a charitable organization committed to gathering excess garments from the fashion industry, and donating them to people in need.
And as much as this allows us to feel like we’re doing something, there is still so much work to be done.

In a Light & Airy Mindset
With freezing temperatures in Florida, and just about anywhere else in the world (aside from Los Angeles, ahem), most of you are probably looking for ways to cover up.
So I thought I’d give you a glimpse, or a peek into what you have to look forward to during the upcoming spring/summer season.
And a peek it is! The spring/summer trend is all about “lightening up.”

A Makeover for the New Year
Here we are. It is the first week of 2010……. Aren’t you scared?
We are right at the time of our New Year, where our promises and resolutions are sinking into reality, or more so, how they will actually fit into our own realities.
We all have the notion of new beginnings, new mottos, and trying hard to shake things up a bit in our lives. It’s a long list all around the world, spilling over with grandiose notions of trying skydiving, or trying to date outside your type, remodeling a bathroom.
It all sounds fantastic, but let’s face it: most of us give up on these uber-fantasies of starting anew within a couple of weeks.
